Absenteeism Reporting

Administrators must report absenteeism when:

  • The school or centre has ≥20% absenteeism due to illness among students and/or staff, or 
  • There is concern regarding high absenteeism within a specific classroom or group (this can include instances of less than 20%).

How to report absenteeism:

  • Complete the initial absenteeism report at: www.wechu.org/absenteeism-reporting.
  • Once submitted, the Infectious Disease Prevention Department at the WECHU will contact you within 1 (one) business day to provide further guidance.

Diseases of Public Health Significance (DOPHS) Reporting Form

Administrators must report if someone is sick or known to be sick with a Disease of Public Health Significance (DOPHS) to the WECHU within 1 (one) business day of receiving notification.

How to report a DOPHS:

  • Complete the DOPHS reporting form at: www.wechu.org/dophs-reporting
  • This form must be submitted within 1 (one) business day of receiving notification.
  • Once submitted, the Infectious Disease Prevention Department at the WECHU will contact you within 1 (one) business day to provide further guidance.
